Continuous green belt around an archipelago of urban settlements provides high quality public space as the driver of the healthy and active life style. It creates space for the slow traffic network (bike and pedestrian paths) and for the realization of the recreational uses. The belt makes the new development sufficiently independent from its context and yet able to be integrated into the future plans in the area. Division into several urban islands leads to a possibility for the realization of unique specific identities and creates a possibility for a phased implementation.
Proposed concept is well connected to the main infrastructure corridors with the inner circular road that enables optimal access to every part of the site. Continuous network for slow traffic (bike and pedestrian paths) runs through the green belt.
Urban islands are organised around the central green public spaces which are connected by a green boulevard. Social infrastructure (schools and kindergartens) is situated at the edge of the green belt enabling the realization of sport fields in the green and safe access routes for the school children. Commercial uses are clustered around the main traffic nodes/entrances.
