This study concerns a spatial exploration of two streets where a public transport connection may be built. The surrounding area will be redeveloped in the coming years with high-density urban program. To make an attractive city, it must be properly connected with public transport. The study must result in a number of spatial scenarios on how the street profiles can be renewed with or without public transport. The scenarios visualize the complexity of the situation and make it possible to make an integral assessment between the various aspects involved in the renewal of the profiles. The aim of the study is to develop a broader understanding of the spatial-programmatic context in which the streets play a role. It is an integrated approach that is not just about solving infrastructural issues. The ambition is to create an attractive city district in which a street profile is an important carrier of urban developments that determine the quality, atmosphere and image of an area.

The following questions are important for the preparation of the study:

  • How and what type of public transport can be incorporated?
  • How can the profile be designed as a safe space for all modalities?
  • What does the relationship between subsoil and topsoil look like?
  • How can climate adaptation be incorporated?
  • What are the consequences for the public space design?
  • What are the consequences for future and planned programmes along the streets?
  • Where are there bottlenecks?
