Basic City was a part of an international matchmaking team, that made the design for the transformation of the Guandong Float Glass Factory into a new creative hub for the city of Shenzen. Shared principles for the approach to the site were: co-creation, close-reading and a step by step development of the site. First step in the process was adjusting the current site for the Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism and Architecture.
Our specific task was to transform the entrance and the main factory hall into representative exhibition space, a new destination at the city scale.
